Bind Your Own Sketchbook

One of the groups I administer is The Art Journal over at Yahoo Groups. (Everyone is welcome, by the way–we’d love to have you join us!) Someone recently posted a link to a tutorial by Martha over at Trumpetvine Travels for re-binding a Moleskine sketchbook, and I love it. It’s an older post–it’s been around a while–but I thought it was timely because a lot of us are thinking about notebooks for the new year–what kind are we going to use in 2012? What size? What kind of paper? If you bind your own, your choices are almost unlimited–you get to choose all the variables.

Click on the image to take you to Trumpetvine Travels for the tutorial.

If you’re totally into Moleskines (mole-uh-skeen-uhs), then you’ll want to check out some of the myriad other sites devoted to all things Moleskine.

Here’s the official Moleskine site.

Here’s my favorite, Moleskinerie, about all things Moleskine.

And a Moleskine Flickr group so you can see how other people use their notebooks.

Once you start hunting around and following links, you’ll find all kinds of Moleskine-related bits. Enjoy!
